Costa Mesa, California – September 15, 2026 – BreadLoaf, an ecommerce growth and retention agency and longtime Klaviyo partner, has published a new analysis examining how product announcements made at K:BOS 2026 could expand Klaviyo’s role beyond email and SMS marketing and further into the enterprise B2C customer relationship management market.
The analysis focuses primarily on Composer, Klaviyo’s AI marketing agent, along with new SQL access within the Klaviyo Data Platform, expanded Model Context Protocol connectivity, personalization capabilities and Klaviyo’s announcement that its platform is becoming headless.
Together, the developments reflect Klaviyo’s broader positioning as what the company now describes as an “autonomous B2C CRM,” moving the platform closer to the customer data, AI-powered decisioning and cross-channel orchestration categories occupied by platforms including Adobe, Braze, HubSpot and Salesforce.
“Klaviyo is moving from being a system marketers primarily use to execute campaigns into a platform that can increasingly help analyze the business, identify an opportunity and build the next action,” said Mark Milutin, founder and managing partner of Bread Loaf. “Composer is important because the value of AI in marketing is no longer just generating content faster. The bigger opportunity is using AI to reason across first-party customer data and surface insights that a marketer may not have found on their own.”
Composer adds an intelligence layer to Klaviyo customer data
At K:BOS 2026, Klaviyo announced new SQL capabilities within the Klaviyo Data Platform. The functionality allows marketers to ask questions about customer and marketing data in natural language through Composer, with Klaviyo translating those questions into SQL queries against the underlying data.
This expands Composer beyond campaign generation and account auditing toward a model in which an AI agent can help analyze customer behavior, campaign performance, product data and segmentation from within the same platform used to execute marketing.
During the keynote, Klaviyo demonstrated Composer evaluating a planned promotional campaign and identifying a large group of customers who had historically purchased without discounts. The agent could then separate audiences and prepare campaign variations based on those behavioral differences.
For Bread Loaf, that example represents a broader change in how AI may be used by marketing teams.
Rather than asking an AI system only to write an email or summarize performance, marketers can increasingly ask questions such as which customers require an incentive to convert, which behaviors correlate with churn, or which audience groups are performing below established benchmarks.
Klaviyo expands beyond a traditional marketing interface
The K announcements also included expanded API and MCP access as Klaviyo moves toward a headless model.
During his keynote, Klaviyo co-founder and co-CEO Andrew Bialecki stated, “Today, we are officially declaring that Klaviyo is headless.”
The shift is designed to make Klaviyo functionality accessible programmatically and through external AI interfaces rather than requiring every workflow to begin inside the Klaviyo user interface.
That approach has strategic implications for the wider marketing technology market. Adobe, Braze, HubSpot and Salesforce are also investing in platforms that combine customer data, artificial intelligence, personalization, marketing automation and cross-channel engagement.
Bread Loaf’s analysis argues that Klaviyo’s K 2026 roadmap places the company more directly within that broader competitive category, particularly for consumer brands seeking to connect customer data with marketing and service execution.
AI may also change the role of marketing agencies
The analysis also examines what increasingly capable AI platforms could mean for agencies and internal marketing teams.
As campaign creation, segmentation, reporting and other production tasks become easier to automate, Bread Loaf expects strategic interpretation to represent a larger share of the value provided by outside partners.
“The value is moving higher up the stack,” Milutin said. “Execution still matters, but agencies will increasingly be evaluated on whether they can understand the economics of the business, interpret the customer data, identify the opportunity and build the right experiment around it.”
Bread Loaf has worked within the Klaviyo ecosystem since 2016 and participated as a sponsor at K 2026. Milutin also participated in Klaviyo’s Partner Advisory Council surrounding the event.
