Pulse Fund (“Pulse” or “the Fund”), a venture capital fund backing early-stage scalable climate companies, today announced the close of its inaugural fund with $63M raised. Pulse is led by Founder and Managing Partner Tenzin Seldon, a climate investor who has spent two decades building and scaling climate technologies.

The Fund invests across four high-growth sectors: the energy transition, infrastructure, food and agriculture and mobility. The thesis is that these markets move together, so a battery breakthrough widens the addressable market for electric mobility and a jump in agricultural efficiency redirects infrastructure spending. Mapping those linkages before the market does is how Pulse finds what single-sector investors misprice.

“Closing our first fund is a milestone, but the real story is what it lets us build,” said Tenzin Seldon, Founder and Managing Partner of Pulse Fund. “We are at the beginning of the largest capital reallocation in history, and understanding how the energy transition, infrastructure, food and agriculture and mobility move together will define where that capital lands. We back the founders who see those connections before the market does and build companies at the center of them. This close is a mandate to go find more of them.”

Tenzin’s systems-level approach has drawn a roster of institutional investors, corporates, multi-family offices and other strategic backers to the firm, including Beneficient (Nasdaq: BENF), C6 Partners, Pivotal Foundation, the Pritzker family, Veronica Chou (Director of Novel Fashion Holdings), David Osborn (DRO Investments) and a sovereign wealth fund based in Asia.

“We evaluate many emerging managers and anchor very few,” said James Silk, CEO of Beneficient, a technology-enabled platform for institutional and individual investors who hold alternative assets. “Pulse cleared more than a year of diligence, and our conviction only grew as the Fund did. Tenzin brings the technical depth and discipline that our GP Primary Commitment Program was designed to support, and we are proud to be among Pulse’s earliest institutional investors.”

The Fund is already invested across a diverse portfolio of top climate companies, including Endera, Floodbase, InventWood, it’s electric, Mast Reforestation, Plantible, Twelve and Unravel Carbon. As an active investor, Pulse frequently leads financing rounds and takes strategic board positions to help guide its portfolio companies toward long-term success.

“Pulse backed Endera when most investors still saw commercial electric vehicles as a niche bet,” said John Walsh, CEO and founder of Endera. “Tenzin understood that electrifying fleets is foundational infrastructure for the energy transition, and she has brought clarity, strategic rigor and a genuine spirit of collaboration to every stage of our work together, including the pivotal role she played in restructuring our cap table to bring in blue-chip funds. Her steady leadership has accelerated our progress, and that’s the kind of partner you want building this category.”

“Pulse saw Unravel as a global company from day one,” said Grace Sai, CEO and co-founder of Unravel Carbon. “Tenzin understood both the climate imperative and the global potential of our solution, and as we shifted our business model toward an agentic, AI-native platform, Pulse was in the trenches with us, pressure-testing how we generate revenue and challenging our assumptions at every step. That depth of partnership that goes through thick and thin has been a real source of momentum for our team, and it is what real venture looks like.”

The firm’s edge extends beyond capital. Under a Space Act Agreement signed with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in 2024, the agency’s largest center for Earth science, Pulse connects its portfolio companies to NASA’s publicly available Earth observation data, modeling capabilities and climate technology. The collaboration is part of Goddard’s technology transfer mission, which works to move NASA science into the private sector for commercialization. Informed by that science, Pulse is building rigorous tools to measure, evaluate and monitor climate impact across its portfolio, and convening a consortium of leading climate funds, accelerators and operators to expand how publicly available NASA science reaches the companies deploying solutions at scale.

A debut fund of this size is rare for any first-time manager, and rarer still for a solo, Indigenous woman-led firm. Women hold roughly 15% of decision-making roles in U.S. venture capital, and Indigenous women are a fraction of that. Closing it speaks to both the strength of Pulse’s thesis and the conviction of its investors.

A Systems-Level Investor

Seldon is an established global leader, founder and venture capitalist with more than two decades of experience scaling climate technologies. As Founder and Managing Partner of Pulse, she leads all the firm’s deals and holds board seats across the portfolio, including Floodbase, Unravel Carbon, Mast Reforestation, Endera, Twelve and BlocPower.

Beyond Pulse, Seldon advises and sits on the boards of several publicly traded companies and nonprofits, including Marathon Digital Holdings, Stanford University’s Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, the UN NGO Creative Visions Foundation and One Earth. Before founding the firm, she co-founded a net-negative infrastructure company focused on the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and earlier served at the United Nations Environment Programme in Thailand, where she oversaw the region’s disaster risk reduction policy. She has also lectured at Harvard University, the University of Oxford and Stanford University.

Rooted in a childhood in the Himalayas, Seldon’s work has earned wide international recognition. She was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar by the U.S. Congress and has been honored as an Inc. Female Founder 500, a Los Angeles Times Banking & Finance Visionary, a Forbes “Most Likely to Impact the Next Century,” a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, a UN Innovative Disruptor, a London Stock Exchange 21st Century Icon and was named one of OZY Magazine’s “5 Civil Rights Leaders for a New Generation.” She graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with highest distinction from Stanford University and earned a dual master’s degree as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford.
